Why squid game broke the internet

Q: Why is Netflix's Squid Game so popular?

Netflix's latest show Squid Game catches everyone off guard! After its original airing on September 17, 2021, the dramatic thriller immediately became one of Netflix's most-watched shows, with over 111 million fans. Despite the intriguing plot and characters, it was you who brought Squid Game to the public's attention. Yes, you. Let's talk about why you and millions of others made it so popular.

Word Of Mouth

Its original concept captivated social media users, who raved about it on #Twitter and #TikTok. If you use social media you have already seen something about this show and had the opportunity to engage with it. On Tiktok #SquidGame has been viewed more than 23 billion times!

Memes

Yes, the culture is HUGE.

Memes aid in the transmission of word of mouth by producing unique settings that can be related to real-world occurrences. People spent their time on other social networks after Facebook and Instagram, as well as other social networks, went down. With that this circulating meme from Squid Game populated Twitter. This legendary episode moment rapidly went viral, piqued the interest of thousands of potential viewers/fans. All it takes is a viral meme to attract a huge number of viewers to a series and turn them into fans.

Accessibility

From this (이것으로부터) to 37 languages!

The show is in Korean, but Netflix has subtitles in 37 languages and dubs in 34 languages, so those who don't want to read subtitles can still watch it. Allowing a large group of people to take part in watching the show together opens the door to long-term fans. Not only to the show but to Netflix as a whole. This is due to the fact that people from other countries or who do not speak the language will not feel excluded from the sessional series.

Being popular has consequences?

Netflix is being sued by SK Broadband. ( South Korean internet service provider)

The show is that good.

Above all else, Netflix's Squid Games are simply excellent, with their unique and suspenseful storyline. The high-quality series makes viewers want to come back for more and share with their friends.

The show grew in popularity as a result of this. Because of the hype surrounding the show, working together provided many people with the opportunity to enjoy it for all of the reasons I stated. Many people would not have given Squid Game a fair chance if it had not been popular, because they would rather not watch a dubbed-over show for a variety of reasons, including a dislike of reading on a screen. (I'm used to it because I love anime.)
